World Cup Broadcast Schedule Announced

ESPN and the NHL announced the 2016 World Cup broadcast schedule on Wednesday. ESPN will broadcast every game of the reborn tournament, which will be held at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

The tournament opens on September 17 with an afternoon game between Team USA and Team Europe. That evening Team Canada will face the Czech Republic. The other four teams will play the following day.

Group play will last from September 17 to September 22, closing out with a game between the U.S. and Czech Republic. There will be a one-day break before the elimination rounds start on September 24.

Calling the games for all Team USA games and elimination round games will be Steve Levy and Barry Melrose. The rest of the games will feature John Buccigross with analyst Kevin Weekes. In-studio analysis will be provided by Brett Hull, Chris Chelios, Buccigross, John Saunders and Adnan Virk.

In Canada, all Team Canada group play games will be aired on Sportsnet, while semifinal and final round games will be aired on CBC.
