‘Yotes Give Christian Fisher Entry-Level Deal

The Arizona Coyotes have signed 2015 2nd round draft pick (32nd overall) Christian Fisher to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced on Thursday.

The 6-foot-1, 212-pound forward played for the U.S. National Development Team in the USHL last year, posting 15 goals and 15 assists in 25 games. He also had a nice tournament playing at the World U18 Championships, scoring a goal and seven assists in seven games.

Fisher could be a part of the U.S. World Juniors Championship team this year when it heads to Finland for the tournament in December. Prior to that, it’s not yet clear who he’ll be playing for. Fisher has committed to Notre Dame, but the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL currently own his major junior rights.

Either way, he’s yet another solid piece of a great prospect pool for the Coyotes right now. ‘Yotes fans are being given something to get excited about, even if it will take until the 2017-18 season to have that excitement manifest as a competing team.
