Adrian Aucoin (born July 3, 1973) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2012-13 season. Drafted 117th overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, Aucoin spent seven seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, scoring a career-high 23 goals during the 1998-99 season. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2000-01 season, playing just 26 games with the team before signing with the New York Islanders ahead of the 2001-02 season. Aucoin spent his last eight seasons with the likes of the Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, and Blue Jackets before retiring from the sport of hockey. He is part of the illustrious group of players to have appeared in 1,000 games, finishing his career with 1,108 games played.
Aucoin represented Canada on three separate occasions, winning a gold medal in the 1993 World Junior Championship, a silver medal at the 1994 Olympic Winter Games, and finishing 4th at the 2000 World Championship. Aucoin also received the Babe Pratt Trophy in 1999, awarded by the Vancouver Canucks to the team’s best defenseman based off of fan voting.
