David Clarkson (born March 31, 1984) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach for the U16 Colorado Thunderbirds ice hockey team in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. Most of his NHL success came with the New Jersey Devils where he scored 97 goals and 170 points in 426 games. He also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets before a back injury ultimately ended his NHL career after the 2015-16 season. Clarkson was also a member of the 2003 Memorial Cup-winning Kitchener Rangers.
