Richard “King Richard”, “Kermit” Brodeur (born September 15, 1952), is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played for the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, and Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He also played for the Quebec Nordiques of the World Hockey Association (WHA). Brodeur was born in Longueuil, Quebec and grew up in Montreal, Quebec.
