Tyler Bouck (born January 13, 1980) is a former Canadian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2006-2007 season. Drafted 57th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Bouck spent two more seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) before making the jump to the pros. He managed a point-per-game pace in his final season and served as an alternate captain for Team Canada on the international level, but his offensive awareness did not translate to the NHL level.
Bouck made his NHL debut in the 2000-01 season, appearing in 48 games and registering two goals and five assists. Dallas traded him to the Arizona Coyotes the following summer for defenseman Jyrki Lumme, but his time was short-lived in the desert. Arizona flipped him in December in a package deal to obtain Denis Pederson and Drake Berehowsky. Bouck spent four seasons in Vancouver, splitting time between the NHL and the team’s minor-league affiliate, and he wasn’t able to hold on to a full-time role with the Canucks. By the 2006-07 season, he appeared in a career low six games in the NHL, further cementing his role as an AHL player and alternate captain to the Manitoba Moose.
After two seasons with the Portland Pirates of the AHL, where Bouck served as the team’s captain, he made the move to Europe to play in the Deutsch Eishockey League (DEL). In five seasons with ERC Ingolstadt, Bouck captured on DEL Championship and registered 89 points in 166 games. Opting to go out on top, he retired in 2014 after celebrating a championship victory.
